The Family Geotourism of IATMI UAE was done on Friday 6th, April 2018 in Jabel Jaiz, Ras Al Khaimah. Attended by 42 participants, 25 adults and 17 kids. The participants profession background were varies, included two officials from Indonesian Embassy in Abu Dhabi. Jebel Jais is a mountain in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates, with an elevation of 1,934 m (6,345 ft), and is considered the highest point of the United Arab Emirates.

The group from Abu Dhabi left at 09:00 AM and the group from Dubai left at 10:30. AM. Both group met at the agreed meeting point at RAK Mosque. After Friday praying the the group continued their journey towards the viewing deck park. Once the group arrived at the viewing deck park, the activities were arranged into two part. Firstly, the informal scientific session for adults and secondly, the educative activities for the kids. The scientific session topics covered the geological sketch, the formation of the geological layer, the formation of fault, and the rock absorption (this was done with experiment). In addition, the group also discussed about the factors which causing lack of vegetation in RAK and the factors contributing to the lack of potential oil and gas resources in RAK. For the kids, bunch of educative activities has been prepared to accommodate their excitement such as drawing the scenery, drawing the rock layers and doing experiment with water to observe the rock porosity.

After completed those activities, all participant walked down to the camping area to set up the tent and preparing the barbecue for dinner. At 21.30 PM, two group left the Jabel Jaiz back to Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Two groups stay overnight at camping site.
